London's 3rd Birthday!

London turned 3! This post is so bitter sweet to me because I lost all but 2 pictures from her party :( London didn't really give me anything when it came to what kind of cake and party she wanted so I decided we would do a Ice Cream party. London loves Ice Cream so it fit pretty well with her. I saw a super cute tutorial on Pinterest where you use ice cream cones and put cup cake batter in there to make a cup cake ice cream cone. My first try is what we would call a "Pinterest Fail".

I had been a big procrastinator and started working on this the morning of her party so I was going to call it quits and just make a boring cake, but I just couldn't do that. I found the only other package of ice cream cones at Dollar General (Safeway and Family Dollar were out) and tried again. This time I only put 2 tablespoons of batter in each cone instead of 3 tablespoons and it turned out MUCH better.

All the kids thoroughly enjoyed the Cup Cake Cones. Sadly I would put a couple super cute pictures here of the kids all eating them, but I lost them :( There was even a super cute one of Bentley with cake smothered all over his face with the cone in his hand.

We had just a little party with The Millers, The Larsons, The Meeks, and Grandma Gardner. We had some pink punch that tasted really bad- I'm sorry for anyone that drank it before I did. I took one sip and dumped it out, not sure what went wrong there but something did. We had cute pink cups, plates, plastic ware, and napkins. Everything looked super cute on the table but pretty simple. We sang, ate cake, and London opened some awesome presents. She got water table for outside,  a tutu and some leggings, a fairy necklace, some fairy dolls, a ballerina Barbie, and a Cupcake Game that the girls still play with all the time. After presents we went over to the park to let the kids burn off some energy. We got some really cute pictures of Kyle tossing Bentley up in the air, the girls swinging, and more of the kids just playing. I'm so sad that I can't find them :( 

London is a sweet and shy little girl. It takes her awhile to warm up to you so once she does it's pretty awesome. She has the sweetest little voice and knows how to use it. She's full of sass and is definitely going to give us a run for our money as a teenager. She has the cutest little face- we just love the girl. Here are some pictures from her 3rd year!

Labor Day Camping 2013

As per tradition, we got together as a family and went Labor Day camping! This year was extra special and we had a bunch of my cousins join us. There were 18 kids with us, all of them 8 and under! It was cray-cray. The kids all played so well together and it was a blast to all have them there. Joining us were My parents, Grandma and Grandpa Bochat, Aunt Steph and Uncle David came up from a few hours, Uncle Greg and Aunt Janet, Jennifer and her 4 kids, John Rocky & Sarah and their 4 kids, Chris &Kati and their 5 kids, Steven and Jack, and Melissa. It was a super fun bunch!

The first night was pretty cold. Bentley didn't go very well at all. Kyle put him in his carseat and drove him around all night. Literally. There was one point I went into my parents trailer and used her phone (mine was dead) to call him because I was worried they had gotten lost or attacked by a bear or something. Poor kid was also cutting his top 2 teeth and luckily they came through the next morning so we got our happy Bentley back. 

We did a lot of hanging out. My mom brought a swing for the kids and they pretty much played on that all day. They kept taking turns swinging and the parents kept taking turns pushing.

Kyle took the kids for a walk early one morning so I could sleep in. Love that man of mine :)

 The kids can always get Grandpa to take them where ever they want to go.

 After their  little hike and came back and told us they found some "sitting trees" and were super excited. We figured they were tree stumps... nope- real life "sitting trees".

We had our Horseshoe Competition this year and Macy got to hand the trophy over to the new reigning champ, Travis! I didn't get any pictures, but I'll grab some of Kati's blog when she posts them :)

4 yr old Preschool

Macy started her 2nd year of preschool on Tuesday. The preschool here goes 3 days a week for 3 hours a day and we LOVE it. She loves her new teacher and she is so excited for the year. Macy kept telling everyone that she was starting Kindergarten and it's taken a good 2 weeks to make her realize she's going to the 4 year old preschool class. Even after she got home from preschool she told Kyle she had a great first day of Kindergarten. Once this girl sets her mind to something she rolls with it.

As with any first day of school we had to get some "first day of school" pictures. Macy really wanted a picture of her backpack.

Macy has the craziest faces. She just kept given me different faces so I just kept snappin' away.

Macy found her backpack hanger right away. Her name is on a yellow star this year.

 Last year I hung out with her for about 45 minutes before she let me leave her. This year she just sat right down and started playing. She was right at home. We are so grateful for the opportunity she has to attend a great preschool and to put that amazingly smart brain of hers to some good use.

Bentley's 1st Birthday!

I don't know how it can be possible that this adorable little boy is already a year old, but he is. 

Bentley's ONE! 

He is such a happy little boy and really can captivate a crowd. Anywhere we go he finds a buddy. He recently made friends with an older gentleman at church named Bro. Rogers and he comes and scoops up Bentley from me any chance he can get. In Young Women's both the leaders AND girls all try to get their turn in to love on him and in Kyle's classroom all the kids flock him. 

This kid is just so love-able!

Kyle needs to go in and play with them in Lightroom a little bit, but I wanted to post them sooner rather then later :) Once he gets a chance I'll switch the pictures out!

With Macy's last birthday I decided we were going to start making birthdays fun around these parts. I got this awesome tutorial from Salt and Pepper Moms and knew it would be perfect for Bentley's party. I didn't realize how much cake I was actually making, and we had A LOT left over. 

I was super proud though and thought it all turned out fantastic!

Bentley Boy and Mommy

This kid was so excited about his cake! He knew what was coming. Here's a little picture sequence of Bentley enjoying it. I love in this picture that you can see his cute little bottom front teeth. They are the only ones he's had- and he's only had them for about a month. 

We had lots of friends over for the party! There were the Larsons, the Millers, David & Kathleen, Grandma Gardner, and Brian. Kyle's Mom was in charge of the ice cream and boy did she deliver! We had more then enough cake and ice cream for everyone.

 Next came the presents! Bentley wasn't too into it....

After about one present he was out.

 So we just let the girls open the rest.

Bentley is such a joy to have in our family. He always has a smile on his face and is the most low-maintence kid we've had yet. He is walking like crazy. Everywhere. If he falls down in the middle of the room he'll crawl to the closest this to help pull himself up, but he's pretty much a walker. He is done with baby food, won't even toy with eating it. He loves cheese crisps, PB & J sandwich, and biscuits and gravy. We recently got him one of the snack cups and loves to carry it around with cereal. He's been getting better at the cup lately instead of a bottle ,but I could probably do a better job of letting him drink out of it. He says "Mom" all the time and can say Dada. He knows the sign for more- and again, I should probably be better at teaching him more signing. He still loves his sisters, when they aren't dragging him around or carrying him out of their room. He loves to play outside and will play out there as long as I will let him. Hopefully we can get some grass out there in the next 2 weeks (that's the plan anyway) so that he won't get so dang dirty, but seeing this happy kid in the dirt is worth some extra laundry. Bentley's personality is blossoming more and more every day and I love getting to see this guy learn new things. Here's to lots more birthdays to come!
