He's Home!

My little brother, Derek, just came home from his mission! He served in the California, Riverside Mission and had the greatest time. Derek has been such a great example to us by his love and dedication to the gospel and Jesus Christ. The road to a mission was not easy for him, but he got there and served honorably. It's nice to have Deek-Boy back home again!

BentBent's Big Boy Bed

Kyle and I regularly helped our stake with their Temple Cleaning assignment. Our ward is amazing and decided that before hand we should all meet at Eva's and go eat dinner beforehand. While we were chit-chatting at dinner a couple asked the table if anyone needed a twin bed. They were getting rid of it and wanted it to go to someone that could use it. That started the internal battle of when to move Bentley out of his crib and into a "big boy" bed. I nudged Kyle and he said that we could use it. That Monday Kyle went and got the bed and we set it up for FHE. I was surprised at home emotional I felt as Kyle was taking down the crib. Bentley is only 2 and very much is the baby in our house and I didn't like the fact he wasn't going to be in a crib anymore! Bentley was a little confused about what was going on but he was excited there were all kinds of tools around.

With the new little bookshelf on his bed, the kids loved reading books to each other and testing out how comfy the new bed was.
Now the wall decorations don't quite fit his room. We need to revamp a little bit.
We were a little nervous on how well Bentley would handle the actual sleeping part- and he did amazing. It was like he had always had that bed. We haven't had a single problem with him and his big boy bed. The transition was a dream.

Pretty Lou Lou

Hey pretty girl!

Referee Kyle

For the past 7 or 8 years Kyle has been able to get his "football" fix without having TV by being a Jr. High Football Coach. This past year was super draining and kept Kyle away a lot. He has been so conscience lately about being away from his family and we decided this year that he was going to step down as a coach. He took a good week or two off and came home to tell me he found out he could be a referee! He could potentially make more money doing that then coaching with less time involved. We did some research, paid our money to the AIA, ordered his uniform, and he was certified! He did have to take a test to make sure he knew the rules of the game, which he passed with flying colors (a 95%! Way to go babe!).

He was pretty excited when all his gear came in the mail, he even tried them all on during lunch. On Sept. 20th he had his first game to referee. I wasn't really sure whether or not the kids and I were going to drive to Show Low to go watch, but we got all the stuff on our to-do list done and headed out to go watch him. When we got to Show Low we picked some Subway to eat at the game and headed over to the field. At first it was really hot, but luckily some clouds moved in and it was beautiful weather. When I go to watch games I always sit on the visitors side (even in Holbrook) and that way the kids can practically go anywhere they want and not bother too many people.

The kids did really well at the game, we only lost Bentley once. Luckily he just ran to his Dad out on the field so he was nice and safe. I was snapping pictures when I heard Kyle yell my name. I look up and there he is on the sideline holding up Bentley for me to come and get him. Oops. Luckily he was a side ref and not the one out in the middle of the field!

Aww- Doesn't Kyle look so good as a Ref?!

Happy 4th Birthday London!

London just had her 4th birthday!! She is such a great helper with Bentley and is so sweet and sassy. She has such a sensitive soul and really lets you know when something is NOT how she wants it. If London suddenly bursts into tears it usually because she asked me for a drink and I forgot to give it to her, I'm afraid sometimes she suffers from "middle child syndrome". She absolutely LOVES baby's and baby dolls and anything mommy like. She is a master puzzle girl and can do puzzles for an hour straight. We have been so blessed with London, things are pretty easy going of her. Since Macy has gone to school she's a little needier with needing something to do, but I expected that and it's nice to have some one on one time with London while Bentley and Alli (The little girl I watch) are down for their naps. She has such a cute sense of humor and really tries to make people laugh and giggle. We are so lucky to have her in our family. I got a little nostalgic and posted WAY too many pictures, but they will all look cute as a collage in my next Blog Book. :)
We love you, Lou Lou!
