Easter Camping

Every year when I was growing up, we went Easter camping with my Mom's side of the extended family. I was super excited when we started planning this Easter trip and I hope that we can keep the tradition going for our kids. My Aunt Steph, Uncle David, Amber, her boyfriend Paul, my Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Randy, Chris and Kati, Steven and Meghan, Derek, Benjamin and his Mom and Brother were all able to make it. We had such a relaxing time. I love to go camping because you don't have to worry about anything else going on in the world- it's just you and nature. The nights were really cold, but it was beautiful during the day. Along with Easter, it was my Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary so we had a little party for them with an awesome slideshow that Kati and my Mom put together. My Aunt Steph made them an awesome cake and my Mom put together a picture collage and put their original wedding book into a restored one.

Easter Egg Hunt

Our town does an Easter Egg Hunt every year and Macy was finally old enough to go and actually participate. Kyle had something going on that Saturday so Marie and I took Macy and London down to the park to check it out. I was shocked at how many eggs were on this baseball field, but I was even more shocked at how fast they got picked up! All the kids stood in a line on one side of the field and wait for someone to say "Go" then they would just mow the eggs down in one swoop. It took max about 5 minutes and all the eggs were gone! Macy absolutely loved it, and London loved trying to eat the eggs that Macy gave her. We tried to get Macy to take a picture with the Easter Bunny, but she wasn't having much of that. We finally got her to stand next to the Bunny, but even then it was one picture and she was done. I'm really glad that our town has events like this and I look forward to doing it again, even though it was quick lived.

Guys and Dolls

Alicia Deets inspired me to get my blog books going (Thanks Alicia!!) so I'm going to go back and update a little bit for our posterity :) I've thought a lot about going back to where I left off, which was really when London was born, but I'm going to hit the highlights of the parts in the last couple months that we've skipped over!

The last semester of school for Kyle was CARRAAZZY. He did 3 musicals on top of a tour to Disneyland. All of which were VERY fun. The first musical they did was Guys and Dolls. We had a lot of fun with it and the kids did amazing. It was close to my favorite musical in Joseph City. The kids really made it their own which made all the difference in the world. My favorite part of Kyle teaching in Joseph City was how much Macy loved to be with Kyle's students. She hardly was ever cranky when we were at "Daddy's house" (That's what she called the J.C. Auditorium) because she just felt so at home with those kids and they just loved her. During this musical Macy really bonded with a lot of the kids and she had a blast trying on and playing with a lot of the props! Guys and Dolls was really his auditions choirs musical- then they did Honk Jr. for his Honor Choir and Willy Wonka for his Jr. High Musical. They all did very well and they were all really entertaining. I'm learning a lot being a music teachers wife, but I still have a long way to go when it comes to figuring out why we have to do so much in one year :)

Today...

...Macy has...

made her sister cry at least 8 times.
Didn't eat her breakfast.
Broke a glass water bulb for my plant.
Threw applesause on the carpet and dogs.
Used my toothbrush to brush her teeth.
Got the stool and played in the sink with water.
Stole London's bottle twice.
Threw stuffed animals at the dogs.
Threw clean clothes on the floor.
Of course emptied her toy box
Decided the dog toys needed all over the dining room.


And it's only 11.
