Ride for the Wall

The past few years the Ride for the Wall motorcyclists have come right around the corner in front of our house of their way to the American Legion for lunch on their big journey to Washington, D.C. They have lots of men that go out before the bigger group to stop and point everyone in the right direction on where to turn. Since our house is on the turn we got to take a picture with the guys' motorcycle. It was the same man this year that stopped by last year, it was fun to see a familiar face.

 The kids had tons of fun waving to all guys. It was fun to see all the different colors of bikes and different they all one.

 This was the fellow that stops at our house. He gave us a "Ride to the Wall" pin and told us he would meet us at the same time and place next year.

Happy Mother's Day! 2014

Mother's Day was pretty low key this year. The kids woke up early with Kyle and they made me some cute pictures and wrote me cute little notes.

After I woke up we had breakfast and Bentley went to play outside. That's a normal morning activity for him. He kept trying to sit in this chair and wear Kyle's shoes at the same time. It wasn't working out too well and he kept falling.

 He was doing pretty well with trying to figure it out. Until he saw me. I think he was pretty irritated that I wasn't helping him.

 We got it all figured out.

 At church the Bishopric gave all us women some cheesecake. It was super yummy. They even had some Dr. Pepper, Coke, and Pepsi- needless to say it was a winner. Bentley came home from church with a super cute card and poem. I loved it, it was so sweet. It didn't last long though, he tore everything off a few minutes later.

 After dinner at Maries, we got to talk to this guy! Elder Carbonneau. 

He reports home on September 23rd. It will be here before we know it! He is doing so good. He loves the work of being a missionary and you can tell that he is so happy to be in the mission field. We're proud of you Derek!! 

Kindergarten Transition Day

Macy has been in preschool the past two years and has absolutely loved it. They meet 3 days a week, for 3 hours a day and that has been perfect for our family. It has given me some time with the smaller kids and has given some time to play with friends and learn new things. I don't work on much academic stuff at home, I figure they are going to do some much at that in school that they can just be kids at home. A big plus to preschool is being able to go to Kindergarten Transition Day. Whoever thought this up was genius! All the preschoolers go over to the elementary school with a parent and they get to see all the stuff that happens at the school so they can get a better idea of what it will be like when they go to Kindergarten in August. That way we aren't just dropping them off one morning at a random place. 

They started out in the cafeteria so they could see how you go through the line and get all your stuff. We did breakfast and it was surprisingly good. Macy was so nervous, she didn't want to eat at all and at first she didn't even want to open up her juice. After I started eating and she started to see her friends she loosened up a little and started eating too.

 Then we headed over to one of the teachers classrooms where the preschoolers got paired up with a kindergartener to show them around. After they were all paired up the P-K and Kinders all lined up and the parents followed the line to the music room. They learned a few new songs and got familiar with the classroom. Then we headed over to the library where they learned all about books and read Pigeon Needs a Bath. They had tons of fun and the librarian did so well.

 Next up was P.E. You can tell the kids were so new at this and the teacher was a sub so it was a little crazy. First they ran, skipped, and then walked all the way around the cafeteria, and then they played with the big parachute. I'm pretty sure after that all the Pre-Ks were totally excited for Kindergarten.

 Then they headed off to the computer room to learn a few do's and don'ts with the computers. Macy was so cute sitting there so intently on what Mrs. Rose was saying. They'll have a lot of fun in there.

More than anything I think it was a great opportunity for us parents to see that the kids will be just fine in Kindergarten without us. It's the strangest thing to think that Macy will be in school 5 days a week all day long. I know she'll have so much fun and love going to school, but we'll sure miss it. Her going to school has also taught me that being a stay at home mom is exactly what I needed to do. I love that I've been there for her every day and she will always know I'll be there for her when she gets home. Time goes so fast and I'm glad that I took the time to be with her. 

Helping Hands

Macy and London were so cute today when they were playing with each other. London loves to do puzzles and let Macy help her a little with one.

 Then they asked me if they could help with the dishes. They are pretty sweet little girls.

I love him! He's just so cute!

Just a good day!

These two were being especially cute and happy this morning. How much better could it get then sibling love, a show, and cereal?

 Macy was being pretty good this morning too. She was writing down important notes.

Later that day Kyle has to go let the Jehovahs Witnesses into the Auditorium for a big conference so we tagged a long. They were cleaning the auditorium for their conference the next day so we didn't think it would take very long. We hung out outside waiting for them. The kids thought of lots of fun things to do. Who knew the outside of the auditorium could be so fun?!

First they "raced" across the small bridges at least 20 times.

 Then we moved closer to the front doors and they sat on the "slides". Then soon figured out they were very "slidey slides" :)

We lasted almost an hour and a half then we decided it was time to ditch Kyle and go get some ice cream. At least we saved him some...

Love at First Sight

Having a boy is so different then having a girl, but just as much fun. The girls are so fun with their pony's, babies, dress, and bows and Bentley is so fun with the jumping, business, and his new found love of hats. He was wearing this pink hat all the time at home so I decided we needed to go and get him a real boy hat. He picked it out at the store and loves to wear it.
